Among other things, protein helps to build and restore muscles. It is a common belief that more of it helps to build bigger muscles. Powders are a good way to get it.
The most common way to use the powder is to make protein shakes. These are convenient and can be quite tasty. Because the shakes rehydrate the body and feed it more protein, they are a good way to end a workout.
Another way to get higher amounts of protein into the system is protein bars. Good ones have essentially the same thing in them as the powders. The bars can be a little more convenient if you are on the go and need a quick snack. Combined with a shake, they can make a good meal replacement.
While it seems to be a mystery why some guys respond better to bodybuilding than others do, it probably couldn’t hurt to take the advice of the big boys and pump up the protein-creatine combination intake a little. Of course, you should always consult your physician before starting any kind of supplement routine.
